Pfizer Trial Survivors Recount Pain, Demand Overdue Justice After 29 Years [Video]

News Central TV organised a town hall meeting on Thursday, January 16, 2025, to address the concerns of those affected by the failed Kano Pfizer drug trial that occurred 29 years ago. The meeting provided a platform for victims to share their stories, demand justice, and call for compensation for the harm they endured.

One of the victims, Nafiu Uba Indabawa, expressed his appreciation to News Central for creating a platform where their voices could be heard. He urged the organisers of the Townhall Meeting to amplify the voices of those affected by the Pfizer drug experiment in 1996.

The Pfizer drug trial took place during a meningitis outbreak and involved testing Trovan, an experimental antibiotic, on 200 children. Reports indicate that five children who received Trovan and six who received the standard treatment, ceftriaxone, died. Many others were left with disabilities.
