I also didn’t mention this in the video, but several of my other Google services were banned during both phases too – Analytics, Blogspot, Adwords, Drive, only Gmail was left.

And several years ago Google updated their Circumvention Policy in the documentation, which in my opinion, was the update where Google started this whole “guilty by association” practice with sites getting slapped in the same account –
“If you continue to engage in actions intended to bypass our spam policies or content policies for Google Search, we may take appropriate action which may include restricting or removing eligibility for some of our search features”

“Creating or using multiple sites with the intention of continuing to violate our policies”
