CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis held a news conference Tuesday morning at Gator’s Portside in Cape Canaveral where he signed a bill to provide additional tax relief for Floridians.
DeSantis signed House Bill 7073 which requires that any homeowner be given a specified timeframe to pay certain taxes, penalties and interest prior to a lien being filed.
It also prohibits the taxpayer from being assessed certain penalties or interest under “certain circumstances.”
In addition to the $450 million in toll relief bill DeSantis signed last month, he confirmed that his administration has brought the “total savings for Florida families to $1.5 billion and $6.7 billion in tax cuts while maintaining a comfortable budget surplus.”
