How to Create an SMS message in HubSpot

Are you ready to take your marketing game to the next level? Well, with the HubSpot SMS feature, you can effortlessly craft and send SMS messages to boost your marketing efforts. This allows you to connect with your customers like never before. It’s all about giving your business that personal touch!

What’s even better is that you have complete control over your messages. You can personalize the content to make it uniquely yours, schedule messages to be sent at the perfect time for your audience, and, of course, respect your customers’ preferences by allowing them to opt-out if they wish.

In this tutorial video, you’ll discover the steps to compose, personalize and schedule your SMS.

1. Navigate to Marketing and click SMS in your HubSpot account.

2. Click on “Create message” located in the top right corner.

3. Modify the message content displayed on the left side of the editor.

4. Utilize the toolbar at the top to include links, emojis, and special characters. For personalization, select “Personalize”:
a. Choose the personalization token type from the Type dropdown menu.
b. Select the property value from the Property dropdown menu.
c. Enter a default value for contacts lacking a populated property value and click “Insert.”

5. By default, an opt-out message is included, allowing recipients to unsubscribe by responding with “STOP.” Manually define the opt-out text by deselecting the “Include default opt-out text” checkbox.

6. On the right side of the editor, assess how the text message will be viewed by recipients.

7. To preview personalization tokens, utilize the “View default preview message” dropdown.

8. Adjust the font size using the “T” dropdown.

9. Activate dark mode to preview how the message appears for users with dark mode enabled on their devices.

10. The character count and estimated message segments are displayed above the message preview.

11. Upon completing the message drafting process, navigate to the “Settings” tab and configure the following:
a. Edit the internal name of your message.
b. Alter the language of the default opt-out text.
c. Associate your SMS message with a HubSpot campaign.

That’s it! Your message is ready to go.
